There's a place for everyone in PTA; moms, dads, step-parents, foster parents, grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Middle/ Junior/ High School students, Teachers, Principals, Custodians, Cafeteria Workers, teacher's Aides, Counselors, School Board Members, Superintendents, Employers, Employees, Senior Citizens, all members of the Community!
PTA membership is $ 4.00 per year.
A subscription to Our Children.. Our Future is optional at a cost of $ 10.00

PTA meetings are held in the school auditorium and start at 6:30 pm. The meeting dates during the 2009 - 2010 school year are:
Tuesday, April 20 from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
Art Show, Character Education recognition, Perfect Attendance recognition.
Non-members can attend the meetings but cannot vote during these meetings.

PTA, what do they do.......
Our PTA has many accomplishments and programs during the school year, here are some of the things they did;
* Sponsored and Organized Fall Festival.
* Purchased computerized music for classroom use.
* Provided student planners for EVERY student.
* Provided children an opportunity to shop for family member at Santa's Workshop.
* Partnered with school and district to provide 3 RIF books .
* Put year book together and make them available before end of school year.
* Purchased Active Wands for all Kindergarten classes.
* Hosted 3 Book Fairs for students.
* Funded Fifth grade Graduation.
* Sponsored 2 Southern Elementary children for the Guardian Angel Tree.
* Hosted the Blood Drive.
* Hosted Volunteer Orientation.
* Helped with Perfect Attendance Awards.
* Funded weekly POW WOW Program.
* Helping with BETA club getting started at Southern Elementary.
* Other projects financed by PTA:
* Security Cameras
* Stage Curtains
* Playground Equipment.
At this time the PTA is saving for a LED sign for the school to get info out to parents and the community.
