Adult of the Month winner for Compassion: Becky Smith

Mrs. Becky Smith is one of the most compassionate people I have ever encountered. I have collaborated with her this school year and have witnessed firsthand her demeanor with students. She is so kind and loving yet with a stern hand and an attitude that makes all students believe they can learn and be successful.

Becky goes out of her way to assist students who are not even in her class or her responsibility. She takes her own time to not only work with them individually, but just check on them and let them know she's there can cares about their progress. I have seen many smiles erupt from students who didn't feel they had any reason to smile and felt defeated.

During Friday candy sales, Becky tries to make sure all of her students can participate. She reaches in her own pocket to provide treats for those that do not have money.  She teaches far more than the normal academic curriculum. She models what it means to truly care about others and hopefully this is passed along by her students to others.

I think Becky is a fabulous example of someone who displays compassion on a regular basis.

Student of the Month winner for Compassion: David Beard

David Beard is one of the most caring and compassionate students I've had the privilege to know.  He always has the desire to help someone else. He is gentle and kind, I see him daily stopping to help someone in need.

David has very tender feelings for his classmates. He doesn't like to see anyone get in trouble, even when he understands the situation demands it. David is very generous. He wants everyone to be happy. He is a wonderful asset to our class and school.
