January Adult of the month winner for Optimism: Lisa Meece
Lisa is one of the most optimistic and positive people I have had the pleasure to get to know this school year.
I have enjoyed her positive attitude about education and her overall love for teaching. She displays such a cheerful, positive attitude about her students and the things she presents in her classroom.
She always takes time to speak in the hallway and say something nice!
I think she certainly is a great example of optimism!
January Student of the month for Optimism: Adam Hembree
I would like to nominate Adam Hembree as character word of the month “Optimism”.
Adam is full of encouragement for his classmates, as well as his teacher. He always looks to the bright side of life and scatters the light to the rest of us.
Within Adam’s few years, he has endured one of the worst losses a human can be expected to survive. In second grade, Adam’s mother went to be with Jesus after battling cancer. I, as an adult know the loss of a mother. I cannot even begin to imagine what it must be like for a child.
Adam expects the best from life and from other people. His tendency to believe that things turn out well, combined with the cheerfulness has been a highlight in my life. Several times this year I have watched Adam “pick-up” a child’s ragged emotions, or give a gentle smile, provide words of hope and change his classmate’s woes into hopefulness. But best of all, he has the natural ability to lead. The future looks bright for anyone Adam has as a friend, co-worker, etc, because, not only will he be optimistic, but he will by nature lead them to have a optimistic attitude and to also expect good things. He knows the cup is ˝ full.
Adam could be nominated each month for each character word… he’s that good, but through his optimism, the other words are even more illuminated.
