March Adult of the Month winner for Initiative: Irma Ashley
Irma is a staff member you don’t need to leave a list for or tell her what needs to be done. She takes the initiative to get the job done.
She is always here before her workday starts and usually stays over to finish a task. She is always willing to volunteer and help out wherever she is needed. She goes above and beyond the call of duty.
I have several times when she was sick and needed to stay home but her initiative and loyalty to our school brought her to work. When I am absent I do not have to worry about anything because I know that she will take care of things.
Catherine is a student who exhibits a great deal of Initiative both inside and outside of school. When Catherine grows up she wants to be a conservationist and help care for endangered animals. Catherine and her family have taken the initiative to go to the public library and look up information on the job of a conservationist, as well as different endangered animals. Catherine has taken it upon herself to complete a research project and poster at home to help her prepare and gain more knowledge about the career field she wants to go into.
Although Catherine is only in first grade, she is already determined and motivated to attain her goals and dream to be a conservationist. Her positive attitude and strong sense of initiative truly motivates all those around her.
