The Southern Elementary Adult and student of the Month of November that demonstrate Respect are Cindi Sumpter and Trevor Ridner.
We would like to nominate as the adult, Mrs. Cindi Sumpter.
Cindi accepted a different job this year within our school. She was a teaching assistant and now “runs” the workroom and computer lab in our school.
Cindi is a person that fits every character word. She is optimistic, always has a smile and always looks at the positive side of things regardless of the situation. She takes everything with stride and chooses to make even negative experiences, a learning experience where she “walks” away a better and smarter person.
Cindi is loyal to our school, staff and students and always willing to go the extra mile. She gives 100% at all times and continues to have that smile.
Cindi shows respect to all of the people around her, big and small. She respects people’s feelings, views, and opinions. She truly lives by the motto: treat those around you like you want to be treated.
Cindi deserves the adult of the month nomination; she affects all of those around her with her ready smile, contagious optimism and respectful attitude.
Student of the month: Trevor Ridner.
Both Mr. Gregg and myself are nominating Trevor, even though he is “officially” in Mr. Gregg’s homeroom, I have him for language arts all afternoon.
Trevor is an outstanding student and very athletic as well. But, what impresses me, as his teacher is his respect, not only for the adults in his life here at school, but for his peers as well. I have never heard Trevor say or seen him do anything unkind to anyone is class. He is so polite and respectful even to the other children in class. This impresses me for a fourth grader!
All of his classmates are impressed with Trevor …. he is someone they look up to as a model of academics as well as character.
