Student of the month of September for Loyalty winners are: Jason Latham and Ciara Wesley.
Jason Latham:
Jason demonstrates loyalty to his friends and classmates. He likes to "take care" of every one. He is willing to help someone who is in need or be a friend to someone who does not have one. There is a student in first grade that does not always express herself in a manner that we are accustomed to. When another student in our class made a comment about this student, Jason jumped to her defense saying that you shouldn't say things about other people and making sure that this student knew it was not appropriate to do so. Jason comes in every morning to help those in our class who can not do things for themselves. He put chairs down, helps sharpen pencils, and helps to straighten up after his classmates. Jason is a wonderful child who cares more about others than he does himself. Jason is loyal to his family by accepting a cousin that lives with his family, as his sister. He stands up and defends her and if she needs his help, he is there to do so. Jason always includes every one, including her, when we talk family. Family is very important to Jason and he takes care of them as he does his friends at school.
Ciara Wesley;
Last week a student was picking on a friend of Ciara's. This student was also a friend of Ciara's. Regardless, Ciara stood up to the one picking on her other friend even though they were all supposedly friends. Ciara is a SES cheerleader so she has a very loyal attitude towards her school school, Ciara lives with her uncle and aunt, whom she is extremely loyal to yet her siblings she does not live with are special to her also.
Ciara is a wonderful role model to those around her showing she can be loyal to her school by being a cheerleader. Also she shows a strong loyalty to her entire family. Her classmates hear her talk abut her brothers and sisters and she even brings pictures to show. You must remember that Ciara does not live with her siblings.
Adult of the month of September for Loyalty is Mrs. Catherine Andis,
Mrs. Andis is a very faithful staff member. I'm not even sure if she knows about or takes "sick days". Whatever you ask of her, she does and with no complaints. I am thrilled that she is here full time @ Southern. She is definitely "true to her school" but even more true to her students and coworkers. I see nothing fake about her......
