Fifth Grade Expo 2009
Fifth grade gifted students participated in an Biomedical Engineering Expo
hosted at Southern Middle School after a year long study of Biomedical
Engineering classes at the Pulaski Gifted Center.
The district hosted an expo at Southern Middle School for the south schools and Northern Middle School for the north schools.
Southern Elementary had 19 fifth grade students that participated in presenting their projects to the Engineers during the expo.
SES had a first place winner, Alexis Lovins who presented a project on a Heart Murmur.
Second place winner was also from SES. McKenzie Mullins brought home second place with a project comparing a healthy and diseased lung.
Third place winner was Casey Jones from Burnside Elementary with a Generator of Lightning.


Additional Southern Elementary participants were: Austin Anderson, Taylor Dalrymple, Suzanne Brinson, Norie Jones, Holly Gaines, Cassie Minton, Tanner McDowell, Tristan McFall, Matthew Nelson, Caitlin Poore, Haley Slavey, Derek Hansford, Emily Carr, Zachary Wesley, Brianna Hill, and Wesley Walker.
