Parent Teacher Tribal Council

The Southern Elementary Parent Group as adopted a new name. As of October 14th, 2014, they will be known as the Parent Teacher Tribal Council. (PTTC)

The PTTC Vision : Every child has a future. Let's make it positive one!

The PTTC Mission is to support student success through:

  • Utilizing family and community resources.

  • Advocating for children.

  • Student overall wellness.

There's a place for everyone in PTTC: moms, dads, step-parents, foster parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, Middle/ High school students, teachers, principals, custodians, cafeteria workers, teacher's aides, counselors, school board members, superintendents, employers, employees, senior citizens, all members of the community!

Parent Teacher Tribal Council, what they do.......

Our PTTC has many accomplishments and programs during the school year. Here are some of the things they do:
  • Participate in Fall Festival

  • Provide student planners for every teacher who requests them

  • Provide children an opportunity to shop for family members at Santa's Secret Workshop

  • Sponsors 2 Southern Elementary students for the Guardian Angel Tree

  • Sponsored popcorn parties for reward days

  • Sponsor 2 children for the Build a Bed Program

  • Box Tops

  • Labels for Education

Other projects financed by PTTC :
  • Security Cameras throughout the school

  • Stage Curtains

  • Playground Equipment

  • Active Wands for all Kindergarten classes

  • Teacher Appreciation Gifts

  • Helped BETA Club get started at Southern Elementary

Meetings are held on the Second Tuesday of each month at 5:00 pm, in the school library.
