Character Education winners: August 2014: Responsibility.
I would like to nominate
for the word of the month, Responsibility.
Allie, from day 1, came into my class and was very responsible in listening carefully to find out what needed to be done. She sits and listens intently and is often one of the first to raise her hand if we are having a question and answer session. She quickly learned the things that are required of her in order to be considered a BRAVE. So, whenever you see her in line, or in the cafeteria or wherever you may see her in our school, she is no doubt being responsible and doing what she should do.
Along with these responsible behaviors is the fact that Allie has a medical condition. At breakfast and at lunch she is very responsible to look on her tray and say “I’m not allowed to eat that because it has too much sugar or too many carbs” etc. So, as a result of her BRAVES like behavior throughout the school and her being responsible with her diet, Allie should be considered as the student of the month for Responsibility.
The beginning of a school year is always a very hectic time for staff, I can only imagine the fact of having extra duties on top of changing from a regular classroom teacher to the librarian.
Mrs. Susan Hoseclaw
encountered this change over the summer and as far as I can tell, she has adapted wonderfully and is very much on top of her game.
Besides being the “new” school librarian, Mrs. Susan Hoseclaw is also the school technology coordinator. Both these positions require time and effort to get things going for the school year and as always, after the first couple of days, there are technology issues that require her attention. Long days are just the name of the game and we can trust that when things need to get done in either the library and/ or technology, she’s there to do it.
Great job, Susan Hoseclaw, showing responsibility and dedication to your school, student and co-workers.
