I want to nominate
for the word of Initiative. Lindsey has taken on several projects at Southern elementary one being the Parent/ Teacher Tribal Council.
Lindsey is definitely on top of things with this program. She has started organizing meetings once a month, is involved with the various fund raisers that the organization does and she does the collecting, cutting, sorting and sending of the BoxTops for our school.
She volunteers her time in a very dedicated manner and has definitely shown those around her that she is very capable running these programs in an efficient and positive manner.
Lindsey has been running the school’s book fair, she also is a member of the PBIS group as a parent representative and helps out in a variety of other committees here at school as a voice for parents and students.
As a staff member I want Lindsey to know that the initiative of taking on such responsibilities and getting the things done that are asked of her or those that she takes on herself without being reminded or told to do, are very much appreciated. Lindsey is a wonderful asset to our school and that is why I feel she needs to be recognized as our adult of the month for Initiative.
I want to nominate fifth grader
as the student of the month.
Peyton is a member of the Southern elementary Academic Team and the Robotics Team.
Even though Peyton’s robotics team did not finish in the top 3 during the last robotics competition, he still comes to every practice that the other team members have. Peyton helps those team mates with timing and setting up the board.
Peyton does not have to come and do this but he chose to be supportive to his team mates who will compete in the State competition on Thursday, March 26
. We appreciate Peyton for the effort and the initiative he has taken in supporting his team members.
