Adult of the month: Tabitha Chism.
I would like to nominate Mrs. Chism for the word trustworthy. I have worked with Mrs. Chism for four years in first grade. She has not only been a wonderful colleague, but a true friend as well. I know that I can go to her with a problem, and trust the advice that she will offer.
She has helped me through the loss of my father three years ago by sharing how she coped with losing her own father. I don't think I could have kept my composure at work as well as I did during that hard time had it not been for her allowing me to vent and cry to her about it. I value her opinion both professionally and personally.
I know that if I go to her in confidence with something, it remains between us. She is a wonderful teacher, co-worker, and friend to many at Southern Elementary and I think she displays the character word, trustworthy very well.
Student of the month: Cody Cogdill.
Cody is a very trustworthy student that always gives 100%, never complaints about anything, is always positive and gets his work done. He encourages others to do their best. He’s a straight A student, BETA club member and a Robotics club member. When Cody sets a goal for himself, you can depend on it that he will do what is needed to achieve that goal.
Cody is a fifth grader who is a delight to have in class. He is one of these student’s that could be nominated for any of our character words because he is just a well-rounded young man that has many very positive character treats.
