October 2014: Courage

Character Education winners for October 2014, Courage

I would like to nominate Sheila Pate as Adult of the month for the word Courage.

Sheila and her family have recently gone through a sudden and tragic loss of a family member. Sheila received the call while here at school one day that her step-son was involved in a severe motorcycle accident.
Sheila not only had to worry about her step-so, but she also was very concerned for her husband, who is not in the best of health. But, through it all, Sheila continued to come to work whenever she could and missed very few days. While she was here, she still worked well with the students, even though I know she was struggling to put on a smile. Therefore, I'd like for you to consider Sheila Pate as the Adult of the month for Courage.

I would like to nominate Andrew Turner as the student of the month for October and the word Courage.

If you have ever met Andrew, you would probably agree that he is an unforgettable kid, in a good way.
Andrew faces challenges but he doesn't let these challenges stop him instead he exhibits courage every day in the classroom and school setting.
