Important message re: Hep A Immunization
Posted on //

Several One-calls have been made to make you aware of the importance of your child being up to date with his/ her immunizations. If you received a letter during last school year indicating that your child is non-compliant, please address this asap.

Your child will NOT be placed in a home room and cannot start school unless we have a new/ current and valid immunization record on file at school stating that your child has had the Hep A immunization.

KY State Immunization requirements have changed and the Hep A shot is NOW required in order for your child to attend school.

The Hep A immunization is a series of two shots. The second shot has to be given 6 month after the first.

If your child has had their first Hep A shot more that 6 months ago, please have them get their second Hep A shot before school starts.
Students that received their first Hep A less than 6 months ago will be able to attend and are required to get their second shot by the due date.

If your child has NOT had any Hep A shots and they have not received their first shot before school starts, they will NOT be able to attend until the first shot is given. Even when an appointment is scheduled and the date is AFTER August 8, your child cannot start until the first shot is given.

If you are not sure if your child is compliant, please stop by the school. School staff is working daily and can check the listing of students that are non-compliant.
